Zenica, Bosnia
Graduating with an honours BComm in accounting
How did you pick your major of study, and why did you choose the University of Windsor?
I was always interested in the business management and particularly in numbers side of running the business, trying to figure out how and why some specific financial decision has been made. University choice was not difficult at all. UWindsor has one of the best accounting professors in the province, and in combination with proximity it was a perfect match.
What were your expectations of university? Has the University of Windsor met those expectations?
The UWindsor has more then met my expectations. I had an opportunity to be taught by one of the best accounting instructors in the Ontario. It was challenging, but with their readiness to find extra time to explain some things again and their constant encouragement, results came.
What would you say is the most important thing you have learned at university: about yourself, about other people, about your field of study, or about the world?
Perhaps the most important thing I have learned at University is to communicate my thoughts and ideas more concisely and to connect to different audiences.
What would you say has been the most memorable part of your UWindsor experience?
Perhaps the most memorable was the first day of classes with two hundred and something students in the classroom, and me being 47 at that time; I could not help but to wonder about how I would fit in.
Please tell us why you are proud to be part of the University of Windsor’s graduating class of 2011.
First of all I am proud that I have completed all courses with good results, second of all I am proud that I was thought by some of the best instructors, and finally that I had an opportunity to meet so many brilliant young people who will prove to be the best business leaders in the very near future.
Did you have a course, professor or classmate who inspired you?
All of the professors inspired me in some way, and of course many of the brilliant students I was lucky to meet, were also inspiring with their ideas, motivations and hard work.
What are your plans following graduation?
My plans are to find a job and to pursue professional designation in the field of accounting.
