RESCHEDULED Sex Testing as a Human Rights Issue

Monday, March 20, 2017 - 18:00

Kristen Worley
Advisory Chair International Ethics & Research Centre,
Diversity Policy Development Adviser & Professional Speaker

Rescheduled to: Monday, March 20
6 – 8 p.m.
Room 145, Human Kinetics Building

Kristen Worley is a fully transitioned elite athlete that brought sex testing as a human rights issue in the Human Rights Tribunal of Canada. This is something that makes her case particularly exceptional because her case would normally be dealt with by a sport tribunal such as the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and as such, the focus and considerations would be different.

This topic is timely as more sport organizations are having to deal with the eligibility issues associated with transitioned athletes and policies are being developed to assist.  Kristen will be telling her story.
