University Division FAQ's

Your gifts send an important message to prospective donors outside of the University; that we all accept and recognize the need to support the University of Windsor. Government, business leaders and foundations often look at the level of support from our own faculty and staff to determine their level of support. 

It is always a pleasure to acknowledge employees who go above and beyond in their commitment to our great University. Your donation, together with your daily efforts as an employee, contributes to an exceptional student experience.

There are many ways you can support the University:

  1. Payroll Deduction: By having a small amount deducted each pay period, you can make a significant difference to the area of your choice.  For example, a gift of $5 per pay adds up to $130 per year; and a gift of $10 per pay adds up to $260 per year.
  2. Cheque or Credit Card: Your gift can be made by check (payable to the University of Windsor) or by credit card.  The University accepts VISA, American Express and MasterCard.
  3. On-Line Pledge Form: It’s as easy as a click of your mouse. You can give on-line by visiting UWindsor Donations.
  4. Automatic Bank Withdrawals: Similar to payroll deduction, by having a small amount deducted from your bank account each month you can make a significant difference to the area of your choice.  All that is required is a void cheque or your chequing account information.  The debit will be processed on the 25th day of each month; or in the case of a holiday or weekend, the next business day.

The University Division gives the campus community an opportunity to make the University an even better place to study and work by making a financial commitment to an area they are most passionate about. 

There are few more rewarding ways to contribute to the university’s mission than by targeting funds directly to students. Increasing the size and number of scholarships available to UWindsor students will have an enormous impact on our ability to attract the brightest and best, and create opportunities for many others to pursue a university education.

As the University of Windsor continues to focus on providing the best experience for our students, you may wish to direct your gift towards our facilities including the Ed Lumley Center for Engineering Innovation, the downtown campus, the Innovation Centre, or the Strategic Initiatives Fund.

Giving is a personal decision. If you wish to change your designation, the amount of your payroll deduction, or terminate your deduction for the remaining pay periods, please contact our office at 519-253-3000, Ext. 4279.

This is a decision only you can make.  Although we hope you give as generously as you are able, all gifts are appreciated and make a difference.  We encourage you to design a payment schedule that best suits your needs.  Remember, payroll deduction is a convenient and cost-effective way to spread out your gift throughout the year.

If you make your contribution through payroll deduction, your charitable donation will appear on your T4 statement from the University of Windsor.  If you make a one-time gift by cheque or credit card, you will be issued a charitable tax receipt approximately one month after your payment has been made.
