About the Project
In the Windsor-Essex area, there is a need. In our hospitals, our community’s children are not a forethought. They are being treated for illnesses that are often painful and have prolonged hospital stays. They’re too young to use electronics or find entertainment in the way that we do. Knowing how lonely and gloomy a hospital environment can be, Crafting for a Cure hopes to bridge the gap between those with the ability to bring joy and those in need of it. Crafting for a Cure’s goal is to spread joy through craft kits—a kit filled with crafting supplies that creates happiness through the building of crafts.
How will funds impact the work being done?
Backed by a national charity, the local chapter of Crafting for a Cure is a new student-run club on campus. Funds are being sought to make 500 crafting kits and assemble them in a day long craft-a-thon. Kits will then be distributed to children in need in our local hospitals by trained volunteers.
Fundraising Goal: $1,000
