About the Project
As the results of global warming are felt more across the country, the impacts on local communities are increasing greatly. The need for local climate action is therefore at a critical point. The Windsor Law Cities and Climate Action Forum is a new student- and faculty-driven interactive project on climate change mitigation at the local level. It is working to empower youth and community leaders from across Ontario to seek meaningful policy-related climate action in their own communities, through public events, webinars, and social media, as well as research to support municipalities seeking to take climate action.
How will funds impact the work being done?
Funds will support a 3-day conference on informed local climate action for high school students from across Ontario, to be held in Windsor in March 2020. The participants in the conference will be invited to listen, learn, and engage with others invested in making climate change policy impacts at the local level.
