If a student is applying for need-based assistance through the In-Course Bursary or Work Study Program, you will be expected to have a completed OSAP application with an assessment of need AND you will be expected to claim your OSAP funding during the terms that you applied for assistance for. If you do not follow through with your OSAP application and therefore do not have an assessment of need, your applications for need-based assistance will not be considered.

If you have a Fall & Winter OSAP assessment and you miss the fall/winter application deadline of October 31st, please apply for the Winter Only bursary.
All fall/winter bursary allocations are paid to a student's winter tuition account as a credit (payment will be applied by mid-December) unless your are studying and receiving OSAP funding for the fall semester only.
Important: If you withdraw from your studies or drop below 60% of a full course load in fall after you have claimed your OSAP assistance, your bursary will be cancelled as you will be overpaid in OSAP funding. Consideration for the fall semester only will not be given. Only if you repay your OSAP overpayment in full prior to November 30th, please notify the Student Awards Office as consideration may be given.
The Work Study Program funds part-time jobs on campus for students demonstrating genuine financial need related to basic living expenses and educational costs. Positions offer opportunity for both financial benefits and skills development.
IMPORTANT: Students are expected to apply for OSAP funding to meet their financial need. Work Study would be considered only if OSAP funds are not sufficient to meet that need. Out-of-province students are expected to apply for government assistance through their home provinces and provide the Student Awards Office with a copy of their assessments.
Students can apply for the Work Study Program by doing the Award Search starting August 1 via the Student Information System.
If you apply for OSAP assistance by April 3, and you apply for the University of Windsor In-Course Bursary for the Summer before April 20, you will receive your bursary decision BEFORE you begin your intersession/summer studies to assist you with your budgeting provided that your application and your OSAP assessment is complete AND you are fully registered for the courses for which you have been approved for OSAP assistance.
If you apply after April 20, you will receive your decision towards the end of June and your bursary, if approved for Intersession & Summer, will be available to you after the drop deadline for Summer.
You may apply for bursary assistance even if you are applying for OSAP for Intersession only or Summer Session only. Please be advised that bursary assistance is limited. If you apply AFTER April 20 but before May 31, we can not guarantee that there will be enough funding available to accommodate every student's request for assistance. As a result, the earlier a student applies, the better chance they have.
Important: If you withdraw from your studies or drop below 60% of a full course load in either Intersession or Summer after you have claimed your OSAP assistance and your bursary has been used to pay a portion of your tuition, your bursary MAY BE REVERSED or RESCINDED and you will be responsible for covering any balance owing to the Cashiers Office.
