Form for Students Studying in a Concurrent Education Program
Applying for OSAP assistance for 2010/2011 will depend on which institution you are enrolled in at least 60% of a course load.
Examples: These examples were created as a GUIDE only. Please be advised that these examples apply to both institutions, even though the example only demonstrates one institution.
Fall: If you are enrolled in at least 60% of a full-time course load at St Clair College, you will apply for OSAP & other assistance (work study, in-course bursary etc.) through St Clair College for the Fall ONLY semester.
Winter: If you are enrolled in at least 60% of a full-time course load at the University of Windsor, you will apply for OSAP & other assistance (work study, in-course bursary etc.) through the University of Windsor for the Winter ONLY semester.
Intersession/Summer:
To apply for OSAP assistance for this time period, there are some factors which must be reviewed in order to determine where you apply. If you have received OSAP from the University of Windsor during the Fall 2010 or the Winter 2011 semesters and are attending the University of Windsor during the Intersession/Summer semesters, you would complete the Intersession/Summer Session Extension Application which is available for download from our website around mid-March.
If you have not received OSAP assistance from the University of Windsor during the Fall or Winter semesters but will be enrolled at the University of Windsor during the Intersession & Summer sessions and are taking a minimum of 60% of a full course load (minimum number of weeks required is 12 weeks - Intersession or Summer Session alone will not qualify by itself if a student does not have an application for either Fall or Winter), you would be required to apply on-line with a new application.
Should you have any questions or concerns regarding your entitlement, please do not hesitate to contact our offices.
If you are applying for OSAP at the University of Windsor, this implies that you are taking a minimum of 60% of a full course load in the terms that you are applying. If you are taking courses concurrently ie. 4 courses at the University of Windsor and 3 courses at St. Clair College, you will be assessed for ONLY the courses being taken at the University of Windsor. In order to apply for assistance for your concurrent studies, you will need to provide our office with the following as soon as it is available:
Both of the above documentation requirements must be satisfied in order that the additional costs can be added to your OSAP assessment.
Failure to provide all documentation requirements will result in delays in receiving your OSAP funding.
ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE TERM IN WHICH YOU HAVE RECEIVED ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR CONCURRENT STUDIES, you MUST forward our office a copy of your grade reports to confirm successful completion of the courses for which you have received additional funding for. Failure to provide your grade confirmation within 60 days of the end of the term may result in your funding being reassessed to only cover your studies at the University of Windsor and an overpayment being calculated.
Overpayments can affect future OSAP eligibility.
