What is a Bursary

Bursaries are based primarily on financial need. Some bursaries may include other selection criteria such as extracurricular involvement, leadership, etc. Bursaries are meant to supplement, not replace, student's primary sources of funding such as OSAP or other provincial finance assistance, employment income, and parental/spousal contributions.

You may wish to apply for one of our $1000 Community Scholars Awards which recognize 275 students who have successfully combined academic achievement and involvement in their high school and/or community with at least 75% scholarship average.

Entrance Bursary valued at $1000 is also available for students with financial need who are entering first-year programs at the University of Windsor.

To be eligible for a bursary, you must be:

  • an Ontario resident
  • applying for OSAP
  • demonstrate financial need

Note: Community Scholars Awards and Entrance Bursary are on-line  application or you can download the form available on the Student Awards website ... listed under Scholarships & Bursaries - Forms.
