The APA Publication Manual's 6th edition has just been released (July 2009) and our bookstore has copies.
Business, Nursing, Education and most of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences utilize the APA style. Most notable is the employment of a digital object identifier (DOI) in the Reference page: "We recommend that when DOIs are available, you include them for both print and electronic sources" (p. 189). The DOI supplants the URL and date of retrieval in most cases.
The Running Head takes the place of the page header now. There are a number of subtle changes that students and faculty will have to embed into their practice. The new manual is about 175 pages and readers will find it easier to navigate.
