Admission Requirements

The following are minimum requirements to apply to the Odette MBA program. Our team will evaluate each component of the application and only once all the required information has been submitted, will a decision be made.

A cumulative GPA of 70% or above, calculated based on the last 2 years of full time studies of your qualifying 4-year degree.

Students of various undergraduate backgrounds (Science, Nursing, Engineering etc.) are welcomed and encouraged into the program.  Having a diverse academic background of students provides a unique perspective both in class and with corporate partnership opportunities.

 

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is required prior to admission.

A high GMAT score is not only a strong admission criterion, but it is also used in awarding some entrance scholarships.

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) may be taken in place of the GMAT.

Applicants whose native language is not English must achieve a satisfactory score on one of the following tests.

Applicants are exempt from submitting an English language proficiency examination score if any one of the following conditions is true: 

  1. Within the past two years you have completed a university degree at a Canadian institution.
  2. Within the past two years you have completed a university degree at an institution where English was the primary language of instruction, as indicated on our exemption list.

The letter of intent (1-2 pages) will outline the following;  

  • Why you want to complete an MBA
  • Your skills, knowledge, and past experiences
  • Your career goals and aspirations and how an MBA could help
  • Why you would be a good MBA candidate

An updated resume, showing your past work experience, education, etc.

No prior work experience is required but all applicants must submit an updated resume and letter of intent.

One letter of reference.  The letter of reference can be either academic or professional.

When completing the online application you will be required to enter the full name and contact information of your reference. Based on the information that you have provided in the online application your reference will be contacted via email to complete a confidential assessment.

Note: Your reference is contacted as soon as we receive your graduate application.

Qualifying interview with the Program Administrator and/or Director of MBA.

For students that are out of town, a phone or virtual interview will be provided.
