Klaus Dohring

Founder of Green Sun Rising Inc.

Klaus was born in Nuremberg, Germany. He has two Masters level engineering degrees, the first one from the University of Braunschweig, Germany and the second from the University of British Columbia, Canada. Klaus has a strong knowledge base in engineering, development, program management and general management.

Klaus has worked internationally in the automotive industry for over 25 years, with a proven track record in engineering and program management, leading into top management positions. He has lived and worked in Europe, Asia and North America, in various automotive functions. In his last automotive assignment he served as the global head and CEO of a $400 million tier-2 automotive supplier group, and was responsible for an employee base of 4,400 associates in 16 plants worldwide.

Three years ago Klaus left the automotive industry, and started his own company Green Sun Rising Inc in the field of renewable energy technology, specifically solar technologies. Recognizing core automotive competencies, and taking advantage of vacant automotive capacities, he has built a network of local solar activities and expertise, supported and backed-up by leading European solar companies, with decades of solar experience and know-how. The Renewable Energy Technology Center in Windsor was founded following his vision of transformation, taking a vacant automotive factory, and bringing it to a new purpose, in a growing clean-tech industry. Two more local manufacturing plants, affected by the automotive and general industry down-turn, are now starting solar related manufacturing, with Klaus’ens involvement.

Klaus speaks German and English fluently and has working knowledge of Japanese. He is the proud father of two children, and lives in Windsor Ontario with his family as a Canadian resident.
