Wedding Information...

Making the Arrangements

A month or two in advance of your wedding reception, we should meet to make the arrangements which include: programme for the evening, bar and wine information, dinner menu, hors d’oeuvres selection, room set-up, linen colours, desserts table, decorations and deliveries. Please call us and we will arrange a convenient time to meet with you.

Liquor Services

The University will provide the bar product and complete service for your reception, and you will be invoiced according to consumption.

Another option would be for you to obtain a “No Sale Special Occasion Permit” from the LCBO. Using the permit, you purchase your liquor, wine and beer from the LCBO, Beer Store and/or Ontario Wine Store. Home-made wine can be served as well. A bar charge of $7.50 per guest will apply, which includes bartender fees, glasses, ice, soft drinks and juice.

After 10 p.m. Bar Services changes to plastic ware.

Set-Up Fee/Skirting

Included in the set-up fee are linen tablecloths and napkins in a choice of colours, china service, podium &microphone.  As well, we will gladly set-up your favours, place cards, guest book, card box and cake knife. Table skirting and draping may also be arranged to suit your decorating needs.

Skirting - $35 per table
Draping - $13 per table

Decorating

Generally, the banquet room is available as of noon on the day of the wedding for decorating. If the room is not reserved for another event, it may be possible to decorate the day before your reception. Please call three days in advance to confirm early access.  For safety reasons, candles must be enclosed (e.g. in hurricane lamps or votive holders). Please contact Catering Services Office regarding ceiling decorations.

Deliveries

The day before your reception, please deliver to the University items such as: Special Occasion Permit, liquor, wine, beer, favours, guest book/pen, cake knife/lifter, card box, etc.  Deliveries should be made between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., but the time is to be pre-arranged. (Note: there will be a $15/hour charge for late deliveries). Please be sure you include an inventory of all items delivered (to be checked upon arrival with our staff) and that all items are in boxes with your names on them.
(Sorry, we cannot accept deliveries of desserts the day before).

Dessert Table

You are permitted to provide your own “home-made” dessert platters for later in the evening. The University of Windsor has a wide range of pastries, tortes and snack trays available. Paper service is provided at no charge for your desserts table, but if you prefer china service, there will be a charge of $50. If you would like us to cut and serve your wedding cake, there is a $50 service fee.

Removal of Decorations/Equipment/Bar Stock

Your bar stock, decorations, DJ/band equipment and all personal belongings are to be removed at theconclusion of the reception. Please note that the University will not accept responsibility for any decorations, personal belongings and/or equipment left unattended or overnight.
