Studying away from home in another country can be an exhilarating experience that broadens the mind and career opportunities. It can also expand one's perspective of different cultures.
Ali Karaki, a fourth-year Computer Science student has maintained a perfect 13.0 GPA average over the last three years -- the highest GPA among the University's international student population. Karaki was selected in his first year to work with computer science professor, Dr. Richard Frost and a group of students on a research paper. Then, following a co-op term at Research in Motion, he was offered full-time work with the company beginning in September 2011.
Karaki says that he admires this culture and country. "Being here has allowed me to be the person I want to be and to dream big. I couldn't have gotten to this point of success if I were to do my undergraduate in my country."
UWindsor offered the right program and a co-op option at reasonable fees for international students, he says, and the chance to talk with professors one-on-one.
