The Centre for Engineering Innovation is a carefully vetted, planned and designed project. It has been developed in conjunction with business and community leaders and will have a transformative impact on Windsor, Essex County and the University of Windsor. When beginning this journey, the first question that the University asked business was “What do you want?” The answer was clear:
The facility will be a world-class Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (L.E.E.D) facility. It will inject millions into the community, create hundreds of jobs, stimulate industry partnerships and be a catalyst to the region’s rebirth. Windsor-Essex County has many talented people who simply require the support to grow the next big idea.
The economic stimulus figures focus solely on the immediate direct and indirect benefits associated with the construction of the Centre for Engineering Innovation. The long-term impact of this project will be dramatic and it will be felt for many generations. The University of Windsor is convinced that this project will be the cornerstone of Windsor’s economic revival and will help lead the region and Canada out of the current recession.
