In Phase 1, the structural steel for the Industrial Courtyard continues to be erected. Metal decking was laid for the second floor and the roof. In the research area, rooftop units and skylights were installed, masonry walls continued and the stud wall construction began. In Phase 2, columns and beams used to support the second floor are in progress. Scaffolding is being erected to form and pour the columns and beams that will support the second floor. The concrete is sampled at the time of placement for each beam and tested for a minimum percentage achieved strength and this strength dictates when the forms and scaffolding can be removed and relocated to repeat the process. Mechanical and electrical services continue to be installed in the basement.
