Understanding the Labeling of Hazardous Substances - Course Instructions (.pdf)

Hazard Communication Labels All individuals working with the chemicals have the “right-to-know” about their potential health and safety hazards.  The most immediate source for chemical information is the container label. The label is intended to be an instant visible reminder of the hazard of chemical.  It is important that all individuals handling chemicals know the various labeling systems and label elements used by manufacturers, importers or distributors of chemicals.  Such knowledge is essential for reducing the risk of occupational illness and injury.  This course explains how to read and understand labels.
