Dale Jacobs, Research Fellow

Narrative

 

A graduate of the University of Nebraska, Dr. Jacobs taught at East Carolina University from 1997-2000. He joined the University of Windsor in 2000 as Director of Composition (a position he still occupies) and also served as Graduate Chair in English from 2001-2005. He is the editor of The Myles Horton Reader (University of Tennessee Press, 2003) and co-editor (with Laura Micciche) of A Way to Move: Rhetorics of Emotion in Composition Studies. He has been very involved in the Conference on College Composition and Communication, on which he served as an Executive Committee Member from 2004-2006. His recent work focuses on the connections between multimodality and literacy.

Current Research:

Dr. Jacobs is currently working on articles on religious rhetoric in comics, teaching comics in/as the contact zone, and the relationship between the monastic concept of hospitality and invitational rhetoric.
