Overview
The University of Windsor values and strives to foster engaged learning. Students collaborate with faculty, staff, and peers in the University’s learning environments, involved in deep learning and creative and critical thinking. Consistent with the University’s strategic priorities, these practices contribute to exceptional and supportive undergraduate learning experiences, enhance the effectiveness, efficiency and richness of academic programs, support and expand research and creative activity, promote informed global interaction, and foster strong community relations, both on and off campus.
The Centre for Teaching and Learning has chosen to focus this round of the Centred on Learning Innovation Fund (CLIF) on open learning. Topics might include, but are not limited to student access to and engagement with post-secondary education through the development of online, hybrid, and distance education at the University in areas such as curriculum innovation, integrated skills development, community building, peer learning, mentoring, experiential learning, and other common curricular elements.
Criteria
Preference will be given to projects that:
Individuals holding a full-time teaching appointment (including tenured and tenure-track faculty, Learning Specialists and other AAS appointments, and Limited Term faculty) at the University of Windsor for the term of the grant (May 2012 through April 2013) are eligible for grants of up to $2500.
About CLIF
The Centred on Learning Innovation Fund (CLIF) grants faculty members up to $2,500 for teaching and learning projects related to a theme chosen annually. Since its launch in 2007, the CTL has awarded 26 CLIF grants to faculty members and staff from Nursing; Business; Arts and Social Sciences; Education; Science; Engineering; and staff from the Leddy Library; Centre for Smart Community Innovation; International Students’ Centre; Centre for Career Education; Office of the Vice-Provost, Students and Registrar; and Research Ethics Board.
Applications must be submitted by the principal applicant electronically by February 10, 2012.
Purpose
The purpose of the Centred on Learning Innovation Fund is to stimulate the development, implementation, and assessment of innovative teaching and learning.

Applicants must complete the online application including a project description (2 pages maximum) as well as a proposed budget. Please see the form below for further details. Please follow the instructions concerning departmental and/or faculty approval on the appropriate form.
Conditions of the Award
Reporting
Grantees will submit a brief interim report by November 20, 2012 and a final report demonstrating the findings and confirming completion of the project by April 15, 2013.
Funding
