A series of workshops for UWindsor employees this March promise personal and professional development.
Organized by the Human Resources department’s office of Employee Engagement and Development, each of these sessions starts at 9 a.m.:

Putting the UWindsor Standards in Action, March 6, Oak Room, Vanier Hall
The University’s Service Standards are designed to manage the expectations of students and other individuals who access services. They reinforce our commitment to the provision of responsive, reliable and courteous service across campus. This three-hour session will explore how to put the standards in action, and how to provide the best service possible through the Excellent Service framework. Participants will also learn strategies for enhancing their listening, communication and problem-solving skills. -
Creating Balance in Your Life, March 7, Katzman Lounge, Vanier Hall
In today’s environment of competing demands, relentless commitments and a consistent feeling of time shortage, balance does not come naturally. A conscious effort, deep commitment and clear priorities are required to create and protect one’s sense of balance. This one-hour session will explore strategies for achieving greater balance in life, and how to recognize what one can and can’t control. -
Managing Difficult Service Interactions, March 21, Oak Room, Vanier Hall
From time to time, service users may behave in ways that could be described as difficult. How you manage the situation will determine the outcome of the interaction. This three-hour session will explore difficult behaviours in people including strategies on how to manage such challenging service interactions. Participants will also learn practical tips for solving problems. -
Planning an Event? March 26, Oak Room, Vanier Hall
This two-hour session has been designed to assist with planning a successful, stress-free, incident-free event at the University. It will cover types of events and approvals, waivers, strategies for identifying, evaluating and mitigating any possible risks associated with having an event. The session will also cover tips for planning and implementing field trips.
