Psychology instructor Jerry Jellis remembered as a caring teacher and valued colleague

Jerry Jellis is remembered by colleagues as a dedicated and caring teacher who helped his students to understand the underlying precepts of psychology. Dr. Jellis, a sessional instructor in psychology since 2007, died August 25 at the age of 62.

“We were very fortunate to have Dr. Jellis as an adjunct faculty member,” says psychology department head Greg Chung-Yan. “For many years, he taught cognitive behavioural therapy, a highly popular course among clinical psychology graduate students in our program. Dr. Jellis was a dedicated instructor with a wealth of clinical experiences and his good humour and caring nature will be missed. Our condolences go out to his family and his many friends.”

Campus flags will be lowered on Thursday, August 29, in Dr. Jellis’ memory. A memorial service will be held in Windsor at a later date. Read more in his obituary online.
