The Lancers have now twice accomplished what no other team in CIS women’s basketball has done even once—won the national title tournament on home court.

“It never gets old,” said Windsor head coach Chantal Vallée. “I’m so proud of the girls. We were facing an outstanding basketball team today, a very talented offensive team, and to come up with that kind of effort, I tip my hat to our players. I couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of them.”

Leading the way for Windsor was forward Jessica Clemençon, who scored 19 points to be named the game’s most valuable player. Fellow fifth-year Lancer Miah-Marie Langlois was named the tournament’s most valuable player for a record third time. In addition to eight points, seven assists and six rebounds in the title game, Langlois led all scorers with 30 points in Friday’s 81-53 win over the Laurier Golden Hawks and 20 points in Saturday’s 65-45 decision against the Fraser Valley Cascades.
