University of Windsor cancels all morning classes for Thursday, September 18

In response to the intention of the Windsor University Faculty Association to hold a half-day work stoppage on Thursday, September 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:50 p.m., the University has cancelled undergraduate and graduate teaching related activities during that time period.

This includes classes, laboratories, major paper presentations, and all first-, second- and third-year clinical placements in the nursing program. Laboratory work will also be suspended, except where required for animal welfare. The only exception is classes at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, which will continue. Based upon the association’s announcement that its job action will end at 12:50 p.m. on September 18, all teaching activities will resume at 1 p.m.

The University will remain open this morning and all other services including the libraries will be available. The Campus Community Barbeque scheduled for noon will go ahead as planned in the Student Courtyard between Dillon and Memorial halls—all are invited to attend.
