After school programs helping local children to succeed

Living in poverty can result in lower education outcomes for children, perpetuating the cycle of poverty.

United Way is working to break the cycle by funding strategies to address that issue. Its after school programs offer children help with their homework and are making a difference.

In fact, 89 percent of parents surveyed report that their kids are doing better in school as a result of their participation in United Way-funded after school programs.
