Choral concert to usher in sounds of the season

Continuing a Windsor tradition started in 1976, the School for Creative Arts presents the Festival of Christmas on Sunday, November 30, at the McEwan Campus, Assumption Parish.

The concert is a celebration of holiday choral music through the ages sung by the University Singers and Chamber Choir conducted by Lana Lysogor. This year’s selections range from the British Baroque composer George Frideric Handel’s For Unto Us a Child is Born and Zadok the Priest to Ave Maria and Silent Night.

More than 90 voices of both choirs will be accompanied by flute, timpani, piano, violin and clarinet—and hundreds more will join in the carol sing-along.

The concert begins at 3 p.m. in the church, formerly Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, at 711 McEwan Avenue. Admission is $10, with a discounted student rate of $5. Order tickets online or by phone at 519-253-30000, ext. 4212.
