Windsor’s women’s basketball team will host the Lancer Holiday Classic tournament December 28 to 30.
The Lancer Holiday Classic women’s basketball tournament, on the St. Denis Centre court from December 28 to 30, is the centrepiece of a series of exhibition competitions for Windsor’s varsity teams across North America this winter break.
The nation’s top-ranked women’s basketball team will host the event, with the following match-ups scheduled:
December 28
- 2 p.m. – Calgary Dinos vs McGill Martlets
- 4 p.m. – Windsor Lancers vs Aquinas College
December 29
- 5 p.m. – McGill vs Western Mustangs
- 7 p.m. – Windsor vs Calgary
December 30
- 5 p.m. – Calgary vs Western
- 7 p.m. – Windsor vs McGill
Tickets are $5 for all ages, available at the door.
The men’s basketball team will tour neighbouring states, playing December 21 at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan, December 22 at Spring Arbor University, and December 29 at Northern Ohio University.
The women’s volleyball team will compete in a tournament at Humber College, December 28 to 30. The men will start the new year with games at a pair of Catholic universities in Illinois—Lewis on January 2 and Loyola on January 3.
The men’s hockey team will travel to the University of New Brunswick for a tournament January 2 and 3; the women are in Pennsylvania to face off against the Colonials of Robert Morris University on January 3.
