Lancer basketball back on home court this weekend

Lancer basketball is back at the St. Denis Centre for the second of three straight weekend homestands, tipping off Friday against the Carleton Ravens and Saturday against the Ottawa Gee Gees.

The No. 1 Windsor women are coming off a January 17 loss to the Laurier Golden Hawks, their first at home since November 2010. They play both nights at 6 p.m.

On the men’s side, the Lancers will be looking for their third straight victory after sweeping last week’s games over Waterloo and Laurier and improving to no. 5 in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport rankings. Wins won’t come easy, though—Carleton and Ottawa are ranked second and first in the country, respectively. Game time is 8 p.m.

Both doubleheaders can be seen live on www.oua.tv and Friday’s contest against Carleton can also been seen live on TVCogeco Cable 11.

All other varsity action is on the road, with the volleyball squads at Waterloo Friday and at Guelph Saturday, men’s hockey facing off against Brock and Laurier, women’s hockey in Toronto on Sunday to play the York Lions and track and field participating in the Findlay Invitational.
