Professor Simpson receives two awards on National Volunteer Week

“You will not be alone in your volunteer activities and everything you do will be seen and appreciated by others. “ said Professor Frank Simpson, Dr.Nat.Sc., P.Eng., P.Geo. Professor of Geology.

As part of the National Volunteer Week, April 12-18, Professor Simpson received two Ontario Volunteer Service Awards on April 16 in a presentation at the Caboto Club. One of the awards is for ten years of service to the Polish community of Windsor through the Polish-Canadian Business and Professional Association of Windsor. The second marks five years of service to the Polish Canadian Students' Association of Windsor.

Attending previous ceremonies, professor Simpson says he has always been amazed at the large number of people in Windsor and the surrounding area, who so generously give their free time in support of others. “Seeing so many volunteers in one room is in itself is a heartening experience and such events should be more widely known.” Added Simpson

National Volunteer Week recognizes, celebrate and thank Canada’s volunteers.
