UWindsor professor’s revenge-comedy is nationally broadcast

UWindsor Communication, Media and Film professor Michael Stasko’s The Dot Film company, along with Kickstand Entertainment, has premiered their new feature revenge comedy, The Birder on the premium cable and satellite television station Super Channel on August 13, and the film will go into regular rotation over the next year.

Co-written by Theodore Bezaire and professor Stasko, and directed by Bezaire, the Birder is a revenge-comedy set inside the world of bird watching, starring Tom Cavanagh; Mark Rendall; Jamie Spilchuk; Tommie-Amber Pirie Academy Award Nominee Graham Greene; and Hollywood funny man Fred Willard.

"A film, like many forms of art, in someway doesn't exist until it has an audience to look upon it, experience it,” says Stasko. “So to know that The Birder will now be seen by such a vast audience is the real accomplishment, and brings with it a lot of satisfaction."

Stasko’s company develops and produces content for film and television and has worked in association with such organizations as Telefilm Canada, TVOntario, and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
