Former dean of law takes on role as acting associate VP academic

Jeff Berryman, Distinguished University Professor in the Faculty of Law and dean of the faculty from 1990-95, will take on the position of acting associate vice-president academic through 2016, beginning January 1. Berryman, who has taught at Windsor Law for 35 years, succeeds Bruce Tucker, who will retire at the end of 2015.

In announcing the appointment, provost Douglas Kneale said he is “delighted” Berryman accepted the position.

“This transitional period will allow the Office of the Provost to make the structural changes required to bring Institutional Quality Assurance Process and the Centre for Teaching and Learning into scope, while shifting responsibilities for academic labour relations to a new position in human resources,” Dr. Kneale said.

He plans to begin a hiring process to have a person take on the role in summer 2017.
