University Players will open the riotous comedy Scapino! by Jim Dale and Frank Dunlop this weekend at Essex Hall Theatre.
The all-ages play, an adaptation of a work by Molière, follows the madcap antics of fast-talking servant Scapino, enlisted to help two young couples overcome paternal objections to their pairings.
The play will run through December 6. Performances Wednesday through Saturday are at 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. On Sunday, November 29, a free “Talk Back” discussion with the director and actors will follow the performance.
