Part-time students answer call to support campus food bank

The Organization of Part-time University Students has donated $200 to kick-start a charity drive to stock shelves in the Iona College food bank.

Over the next couple of weeks, its volunteers will engage with students, faculty and staff on campus and residences in the local community by collecting food and other non-perishable items.

“We encourage everyone to get involved and help those in need and make a difference by supporting Iona College with some food and other non-perishable items during this holiday season,” says OPUS executive director, Maryan Amalow. “We appreciate your generosity in advance, as this will be beneficial for students.”

Donations of food and other non-perishable items are welcome until Friday, December 18, in two boxes located in the CAW Student Centre—one at the information desk and the other in the OPUS office, room 172. For more details, contact the Iona College food bank coordinator Maria Meerson at meerson@uwindsor.ca or office@ionacollege.edu.
