Windsor grad to direct opera

UWindsor music alumna Erin Armstrong (BMus 2007) will direct a concert performance of Giacomo Puccini’s La bohème by the Windsor Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, January 30, at the Capitol Theatre.

Music director Robert Franz will conduct the orchestra and UWindsor choir director Bruce Kotowich will lead the WSO Chorus, supplemented by the voices of music students. Saturday’s concert will feature eight soloists.

La bohème weaves together love and heartbreak in one of opera’s best-loved works. Its story of young penniless artists who look to small joys to brighten their meager lives served as the basis for the blockbuster musical Rent.

The Capitol Theatre is located at 121 University Avenue West. The show gets underway at 8 p.m. Find ticket information and more on the WSO website.
