Islamic approach to racism subject of Friday lecture

Racism does not have to entail explicit slurs or express hatred, but can manifest itself covertly. A free public lecture Friday will explore an Islamic approach to racial bigotry.

Dawud Walid, executive director of the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, will deliver “Racial Justice in Islam” at 6 p.m. February 12 in room 104, Toldo Health Education Centre.

The event is sponsored by the UWindsor Muslim Students Association.
