If you head into the CAW Student Centre on Tuesday, don’t be surprised if you feel you’ve stepped into Milan Fashion Week.

The student centre will host a fashion show in partnership with Freeds, a local clothing shop. Titled “Fall into Fashion,” it will be held on Tuesday, November 15, in the Commons area from noon to 1:30 p.m.

“It will be a fun, interactive event,” says Sandra Riccio-Muglia, the centre’s director of events and programs. “The student centre is a decompressed area, so when you come in and see something that’s fun, why not just take part?”

The show is presented by the UWindsor Fashion Club, whose members will walk the runway in clothing provided by the store. Riccio-Muglia and owner Ari Freed will provide a running commentary on the styles and fashions.

The event will also promote the Fashion Club’s “Take off Your Clothes” clothing drive, which will collect items for local shelters starting December 1.

Riccio-Muglia coordinated the show with Freeds’ fashion consultant, Lauren Kirsh Weiss.

“We do head-to-toe fashion at all price points,” says Kirsh Weiss, adding that a lot of people think of Freeds as a higher-end store. She says the store is trying to revitalize its image by catering more to a younger demographic.

Following the show, there will refreshments and a raffle for Freeds gift cards. A pop-up shop will offer clothing from brands the stores carries, including Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Canada Goose, and Hunter.
