UWindsor grad takes up appointment as scholar of religion and conflict

Alumnus John Cappucci (BA English and political science, 2006) has accepted a one-year appointment as Jarislowsky Chair in Religion and Conflict at Assumption University, effective May 1.

Dr. Cappucci followed his UWindsor education with master’s studies at Queens University and a doctorate from Carleton University. His research interests include religion and politics, world religions, diasporas, and multicultural theory. He has taught as a sessional instructor in disciplines through the University of Windsor Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

He expressed thanks to donor Stephen Jarislowsky and Assumption University.

“Together, they have provided me with a momentous opportunity to make lasting contributions to scholarship, teaching, and the community in the area of the positive role that religion can play in public life,” he said.
