Action required to save FluidSurveys data

The data collected by FluidSurveys is becoming more fluid than planned. The service was acquired by rival SurveyMonkey and is phasing out its operations.

University access to the web-based tool, used for questionnaires and forms, will expire in September. When it does, users will lose any existing surveys, including all data saved from previous respondents.

Users wishing to retain data must export surveys and responses before they are permanently lost.

To export FluidSurveys surveys as either Word doc or PDF, see: Exporting of Printing Your Survey.

To export FluidSurveys responses in a variety of formats, see: Exporting your Responses.

To export a .csv file of your contacts from FluidSurveys:

  1. Select Contacts from the Tools drop down in upper left toolbar of your FluidSurveys account.
  2. Select All Contacts up the upper left corner of the contacts page. Make sure all contacts are selected.
  3. Select Export Selected Contact(s) from the Actions menu in the upper right corner. This will export a .csv file containing all of your contacts.

Information Technology Services has added a module to the Drupal web content management system that will enable users to create forms and simple surveys. Read more about creating Drupal web forms and surveys in the Online Training Guide.

IT Services is actively working with the Research Ethics Board, Institutional Analysis, and other campus offices to find a replacement for the FluidSurveys tool that will support more complex, research-type questionnaires. Staff will outline next steps for affected users once a replacement is identified.
