Conference considering issues in campus recreation

More than 100 professionals and students engaged in intercollegiate recreation and fitness programs have gathered on the UWindsor campus this week to exchange ideas on everything from management techniques to mental health.

The Eastern Canada Campus Recreation Conference opened Wednesday and continues through Friday in the Human Kinetics Building. Lancer Recreation co-ordinator Sandra Ondracka and fitness co-ordinator Frank Jeney organized about 30 sessions, with presentations by seven UWindsor staffers as well as participants from campuses across Canada and the United States.

“We are very excited to host our colleagues for a wide-ranging discussion of exciting new ideas within campus recreation,” Ondracka says. “It should prove an educational experience, especially for those who haven’t been to Windsor before.”

A social Thursday will send conferees on a boat cruise of the Detroit River. Learn more on the conference website.
