An upgrade to the Blackboard learning management system will introduce three high-demand features, but take it offline on the morning of Thursday, August 24.

Along with a new look for Blackboard Learn, the upgrade offers:

• Submission Receipts: Students will get a confirmation number indicating that their assignment has been successfully submitted, and instructors can view the Submission Receipts from the Full Grade Centre -> Reports -> Student Receipts area.
• Drag and Drop: Files can now be “dragged and dropped” into Blackboard wherever the “hot spot” is visible.
• A refreshed Blackboard Collaborate (Virtual Classroom) interface.

The upgrade will make the system unavailable to users from 7 a.m. to noon August 24. Information Technology Services will note any delay on its Hot News.
