Program to promote social innovation

A new program of the Entrepreneurship, Practice and Innovation Centre (EPICentre) will promote the development of ideas that put people and the planet first.

With a grant of almost $90,000 from Libro Credit Union, EPICentre has launched a two-phase project that will provide education and programming to ventures with the potential to work for the public good.

The Libro Social Innovation Workshop Series, to run in summer 2018, will hold guest speaking events to help stimulate the social innovation culture across Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex.

The Libro Social Innovation Challenge, in September 2018, will engage teams of participants over the course of a weekend to prepare a pitch on their new social venture ideas. Those judged the best will enter the Libro Social Innovators Program, receiving funds to support them through an intensive effort to accelerate their enterprises.

The WEtech Alliance will also partner in this program; find more information in its social innovation toolkit.
