Construction crews to throw shade on River Commons

With the addition of greenery, the River Commons is approaching completion.

Contractors have begun planting trees in the space, located between the Biology Building and Turtle Island Walk. The design calls for several native species, including redbud, maple, oak, sycamore and locust varieties.

When it opens, the River Commons will feature coloured paving, seating and landscaping that will create an abstract map of the river and its islands, the bridge and the campus location within the region.
