Events to foster understanding of Islam

The Muslim Students Association is hosting a series of events this week in an effort to educate the UWindsor community about the religion.

Volunteers will staff an Islam Awareness Week display in the CAW Student Centre Commons on Tuesday and Thursday.

Additional programming includes:

  • A lecture by therapist Zain Shamoon entitled “Speak Up: Mental Health and Islam,” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, in room 1121, Neal Education Building;
  • Jeopardy! trivia contest with prizes at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, in room 1118, Erie Hall; and
  • A lecture by imam Hosam Helal, an associate chaplain at Brock University, entitled “The Quran: What’s up with that?” at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 8, in room 133, Chrsyler Hall North.

All these events are free and open to the public.
