UWindsor grad grabs piece of history

Mike Alexander’s parents made some beautiful music together as students at the University of Windsor. Now he has a souvenir of their early lives together — a brick from the new-demolished Music Building where they first met.

Paula and Dan Alexander married and began careers as music teachers in Courtice, outside Oshawa, Ontario. Their son plans to present them with the brick, pulled from the rubble, as a memento of their time in Windsor.

“I’ll probably put a little plate on it with their names,” he says.

A recent graduate of the Odette School of Business himself (BComm 2017), Alexander keeps a hand in the music industry as patron services co-ordinator for the Windsor Symphony Orchestra.

He says he is excited to have the music program and the rest of the School of Creative Arts relocate to the downtown core, close to the symphony’s home.
