Symphony to celebrate centenary of Point Pelee park

Nature lovers and music lovers hoping to get a listen of a new composition celebrating the 100th anniversary of Point Pelee National Park have one chance this weekend: a performance Sunday in Assumption Hall’s Heritage Auditorium by the Windsor Symphony Orchestra.

The orchestra commissioned “Pelee” from composer Jeff Smallman. The work echoes the distinct sounds of the park’s four seasons.

A world premiere Saturday in the park has been sold out for months. At DailyNews publication time, there were still tickets available for Sunday’s 2:30 p.m. concert. Purchase online at www.windsorsymphony.com or by phone at 519-973-1238, ex. 2.
