Basketball to hold court in St. Denis Centre this weekend

Lancer basketball will host teams from the nation’s capital in the only varsity action at home this weekend.

First up are the Ottawa Gee Gees on Friday, November 9; the Carleton Ravens follow on Saturday, November 10. The women will play at 6 p.m. and the men at 8 p.m. both evenings in the Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse.

The Lancers will have a limited supply of their special edition T-shirts marking Breast Cancer Awareness Day available for purchase. Proceeds from the $12 price support research programs of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

In other sports action, the men’s hockey team will play the Western Mustangs in London on Friday and the Brock Badgers in St. Catharines on Saturday.

Women’s hockey will travel to Toronto to face off against the York Lions on Friday then join the men in St. Catharines for a contest against Brock on Saturday.

Cross country will compete in the U Sports championship tournament Saturday in Kingston.

Women’s and men’s volleyball will meet the Warriors in Waterloo on Saturday and then play the Gryphons in Guelph on Sunday.
