Book launch to celebrate works of Windsor Law profs

The recent works of two Windsor Law faculty members will be celebrated at a joint book launch event later this month.

Professor Jasminka Kalajdzic’s book Class Actions in Canada: The Promise and Reality of Access to Justice, released in May 2018 by UBC Press, critically and empirically examines whether collective litigation is meeting the Canadian project to make justice available to all.

Professor Richard Moon’s book Putting Faith in Hate: When Religion Is the Source or Target of Hate Speech, released in February 2018 by Cambridge University Press, examines the application of hate speech laws when religion is either the source or target of such speech.

“Writing a book is a significant academic achievement,” says associate dean of research and graduate studies Laverne Jacobs. “We are so proud of the latest additions to our faculty-authored books, and I look forward to celebrating with the authors on April 17.”

The book launch will take place on Wednesday, April 17, at 5 p.m. on the second floor of Canterbury College, 2500 University Ave. W. The event is free and open to the public, but attendees are asked to register online by April 15 at http://www.uwindsor.ca/law/1568/faculty-book-launch-celebration.
