Charitable contribution earns pass for weekly casual dress days

Thursday is her favourite day of the workweek, says Sheri Lowrie.

“I get to be comfortable and wear what I like,” says the student recruitment officer.

She is co-chair of the campus campaign for United Way, which offers a pass for casual dress days each Thursday in 2020. Annual passes entitling employees to participate are available in exchange for a minimum tax-deductible donation of $50.

“You get a pass to place on your desk and a button that reads I’m dressed this way for United Way,” Lowrie says. “It raises the profile of this charity that does so much for our community — plus it’s an excuse to wear my Uggs.”

She has the passes for purchase by cash or cheque; contact her at sherio@uwindsor.ca or 519-253-3000, ext. 2036.
