Lancers looking to even men’s hockey playoff series

The Lancer men’s hockey team will have a chance to even its best-of-three first-round playoff series tonight — taking to the ice in St. Catharines for Game 2 against the Brock Badgers, the premiere match-up in varsity action this weekend.

Windsor lost the series opener 6-3 Wednesday; the squads will head back to the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex for a deciding third game, if necessary, on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 7:30 p.m. These games will be webcast live at OUA.tv.

Lancer curling is competing in the Ontario University Athletics championship tournament this weekend in Guelph. Both the men’s and women’s teams finished seventh last year and hope to improve on that standing. Play opened Thursday and will continue through Monday. Read a full preview at goLancers.ca.

Women’s hockey will close out its season at home, hosting the Ryerson Rams at 7:30 p.m. Friday and the Queen’s Gaels at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Volleyball will be in London on Friday to play the Western Mustangs. Basketball will bounce into Waterloo to play the Warriors on Friday and will tip off against the Mustangs in London on Saturday.
