Sessions to offer information and training for Service Excellence Program

A series of workshops offered by the Department of Human Resources is designed to help UWindsor employees understand and implement the Service Excellence initiative, says Marcela Ciampa, manager of employee engagement and development.

“Service excellence can be defined as providing responsive, reliable and courteous service to our students and other service users,” she says. “The provision of excellent service is critical to strengthen our reputation of being a welcoming campus, to help us achieve our vision of being a student-centered University and to foster more pride in UWindsor.”

The initial information session, “Service Excellence: Putting the Standards into Action,” will introduce participants to the Service Excellence Program, including:

  • Why it is important to provide excellent service
  • What our service users expect from us
  • Overview of the University of Windsor Service Standards
  • What tends to get in the way of excellent service

It is offered from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on four dates: January 26 and 31, February 1 and 16. Click here to register.

In addition, three-hour workshops starting at 9 a.m. in Vanier Hall’s Oak Room will provide training in aspects of the program.

Service Excellence at UWindsor, January 25, will review the service standards; introduce a printed guide to providing excellent service in person, through the telephone and e-mail; and suggest strategies for developing department-specific standards. Click here to register.

Preventing the Runaround: Your Guide to Services for Students, February 8, will provide an overview of key campus services for students, helping staff make appropriate referrals to help students avoid the runaround. Click here to register.
