Campus secretary remembered as caring colleague

Vice-president research Ranjana Bird says her secretary Judy Gagnon was a dedicated employee of the University of Windsor as well as a caring and compassionate individual. Gagnon died April 14 during a family vacation.

“Judy was my dear friend and I will miss her greatly,” Dr. Bird says.

Gagnon started work for the University of Windsor in 2001 as secretary to the clerk of the senate and moved to a clerical assistant position in January 2002. In June 2002, she began working as secretary to the director of finance before moving to the office of the VP research in 2005.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 20, and campus flags will be lowered that day in Gagnon’s memory. Details are available in her obituary.

Gagnon’s colleagues have begun collecting donations to dedicate a commemorative campus bench and a student award in her honour. Tax receipts will be issued for all gifts of $10 or more.
