Project commemorates missing and murdered Aboriginal women

The issue of missing and murdered Aboriginal women and girls is a national tragedy.

Art meets activism in the Native Women’s Association of Canada Faceless Doll Project, where participants create faceless felt dolls as part of a travelling exhibit in memory of these victims.

Jennifer B. Lord will join students in the UWindsor course Violence in the Lives of Women and Girls as well as interested community members in making faceless dolls and discussing the importance of this project during the free public event, “Each Statistic Tells a Story,” Tuesday, October 22, at 4 p.m. at the Caboto Club.

Learn about this commemorative project, hear the stories, and see a selection of the faceless dolls at this event, part of the Distinguished Visitors in Women’s Studies series.

The Caboto Club is located at 2175 Parent Avenue at Tecumseh Road.
